Imagine chasing your dream to be a songwriter and competing with all the other talent in a town like Nashville. After years of playing the game and working on your craft, you feel beat down and wonder if you are ever going to have any success… You finally reach a point where you are thinking very seriously about just walking away from it all…And then, you find out Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard have recorded on of your songs…That my friend’s is what you call validation at the highest level.
That’s the abridged version of what occurred for songwriter and artist, Ward Davis, who is our guest on today’s show.
This was a really great visit with Ward and I think you all will enjoy his openness and candor about his career and life in general.
I think we also make some history on today’s show. I’m pretty sure we’ve never had to take a pause in the interview so the artist we’re interviewing could take a call from his realtor and find out that the offer he put it on a new home for he and his family has been accepted! It was a pretty cool moment and you can really hear the excitement and relief in Ward’s voice after he got the out the news in the middle of recording this episode. That’s what you call grade A audio content folks.
